The cLGA® socket was tested in several contact configurations to determine the current rating in those configuration cases. All measurements were taken on 1 millimeter centerline socket product. To determine the current rating in each case, a thermocouple was embedded in the socket array and the socket was mated between two parallel test boards. Varying current was applied and the temperature rise over room ambient was measured. At a 30º C temperature rise over ambient, the current rating of each configuration is as follows:    Array Size      Current Rating 1 x 2 position 3.7 amps per contact 2 x 2 position 3.7 amps per contact 4 x 4 position 2.1 amps per contact Full current rating curves for each of these configurations are linked in the table above.
